AI-Generated vs AI-Assisted LinkedIn Content
One produces content that sounds like everyone else. The other produces content that sounds like you, faster - and why AI is material to sculpt, not a finished product to accept.
Browser-extension LinkedIn tools carry real account risk. Here's the difference between cookie-based automation and an official API connection - and which one SparkVox uses.

LinkedIn has spent the past couple of years cracking down on automation, and the crackdown has caught plenty of legitimate tools in the blast radius. If you have shopped for a LinkedIn content tool recently, you have probably seen the warnings - reports of accounts flagged, restricted, or suspended after using a scheduler or growth tool that relied on browser cookies instead of LinkedIn's own systems.
The distinction that actually matters here is simple, and most tools do not explain it clearly: how does the tool talk to LinkedIn on your behalf?
Browser extension or cookie-based access. The tool captures your session cookie - the same credential your browser uses once you are logged in - and uses it to act as you: posting, scheduling, sometimes commenting or connecting on your behalf. From LinkedIn's perspective, this looks identical to a script controlling your browser, because that is what it is. It works right up until LinkedIn's automation detection flags the pattern, at which point the risk sits entirely with your account, not the tool's.
Official API access. You authorize the tool through LinkedIn's own OAuth screen - the same flow you use to log into other apps with your LinkedIn account. LinkedIn knows exactly which app has access, what it is permitted to do, and can revoke that access at any time without touching your account standing. Your password never passes through the third-party tool at all.
These are not two flavors of the same thing. One is sanctioned integration. The other is automation LinkedIn tolerates until it does not.
LinkedIn's official API is more restrictive than scraping a browser session - it does not grant the same breadth of access that cookie-based tools use for aggressive engagement automation, bulk connection requests, or scraping profile data at scale. Some tools choose the API anyway and build a narrower, more sustainable product around it. Others choose the cookie route because it lets them ship features the API does not permit, and accept the account-risk tradeoff on your behalf without always saying so plainly.
This is worth asking directly about any tool you are evaluating: does it connect through LinkedIn's official authorization screen, or does it ask you to install an extension and log in as normal? The second is not automatically dangerous, but it is a materially different risk profile than the first, and it is reasonable to expect a tool to be upfront about which one it uses.
SparkVox connects to LinkedIn through the official API. You authorize access under Settings → Integrations using LinkedIn's own authorization screen - your password never touches SparkVox. Every draft goes through human review before it publishes or schedules; there is no bulk auto-posting, no automated commenting, and no session-cookie access to your account.
This is a narrower feature set than a browser-extension tool could offer, and that is a deliberate tradeoff. Publishing and scheduling through a sanctioned integration, with a human approving every post before it goes live, is the version of this that does not put your account at risk to save you a few clicks.
