When a project fails

What failed status means and how credits are handled.

A project can fail during transcription, moment extraction, or post generation. When status is failed, open the project page to read the error message.

Credits and refunds

Credits are checked before processing starts. If a project fails after the processing fee was deducted, SparkVox refunds the processing credits automatically. You are not charged for a run that did not complete successfully.

Common causes

  • Unreachable or private URL (YouTube video unavailable, broken audio link).
  • Unsupported or corrupt file upload.
  • Insufficient credits at ingest time (you get an insufficient_credits notification before processing starts).
  • Transient transcription or AI errors - try again or contact support via the Help drawer.

API users receive a project.failed webhook with the same error context. See sparkvox.io/docs/api/webhooks.
